The number of asphalt shingle roofs we install annually far out-number our metal roof installations. Largely due to the higher up front cost of metal roofs when compared to asphalt shingled roofs. Recently though we have seen a slight shift with homeowners choosing a metal roof over the shingled type. For this reason we see a need for homeowners to understand the differences between the two types of roofs (as well as offering options for our customers) by adding a new metal roofing section to the Drawdy Roofing website in the coming days.
Over the next few weeks we will be discussing metal roofs in a series of videos here on our blog. In part one below energy efficiency, noise and environmental impact of metal roofs are discussed.
